2013-2014 Champs

Congrats to the 2013-14 Champs of the Mixed League, the Simonson Rink!

Tim Simonson, Nancy Simonson, Nancy Creeger, & Craig Creeger

And three cheers to the triple-crown winners (we made that up): they took the top prize at the Winter Carnival and Mixed Wind-Up spiels, and the Grand Aggregate, playing with three different line-ups - the Owens rink!

Liz Owens, Aaron Nunberg, Jen Kamarainen, & Zac Owens

Congrats to all on a very fun and successful season!  We'll see you in October!

Grand Aggregate and Mixed Playdowns

Since the Mixed league operates differently than many of the other leagues, we thought it would be worthwhile to explain a few of these differences here on the blog.

The Grand Aggregate is awarded to the team (among all Mixed teams) with the best record throughout the regular season.  As the records stand right now, it's looking like there may be a need for a tiebreaker this season, but we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

The Mixed league also has it's own playoffs.  The top 8 teams are invited to play in the playoffs.  The games take place during the regular schedule of play downs culminating with the top 2 meeting on the night of the Club Championship.  It would be helpful for us if you would mark a "Yes" next to your team name on the draw sheets if you are interested in the playoffs (and a "No" if you're not).

Good curling.

Week 12 standings

Here are the Friday night standings updated through today.  With just 3 weeks left, there is still very little separation at the top.  There are at least 15 teams still alive for the Grand Aggregate.

If you were involved in a forfeited game, please mark the W/L on the schedule so that we know who won and lost all games.

Good curling!
